my heart was in need of a little soothing today ~ and look what the universe gave me....
this tiny crumpled cough wrapper must have fallen out of my pocket ... i discovered it lying on the floor in the hall, just one step through my front door when i returned home from the shops this morning... a little self-made heart... with the word sooth(e) .... a little miracle... thank you universe x
every year i let the girls choose a new decoration for our Christmas tree. last year my eldest chose this one pictured above. when we took the decorations from our Christmas box this year we discovered that this pretty bauble had broken in to tiny pieces....my daughter was a little sad...
this morning i popped into our local garden centre to see if they had any in this year. sadly no but then i saw it .. one the same, unpriced at the back of the shelf, obviously left over from last year... it was waiting for me and so i bought it and have put it on the tree already ... i wonder how long it will take her to notice it?it was a good start to the day ... i love little moments like this when the universe smiles and reveals it's magic.

this weekend i have spent a little time tidying the garden... here is a cricket that i found under a strawberry leaf... .isn't he incredible.? natures designs and details always amaze me.
our weekend was spent pottering in the garden... weeding...sowing... planting... playing...relaxing and eating but it was also a time of reacquainting ourselves with all the little creatures who we share the garden with...
i watched this snail for a while.. i felt a surge of wonder and delight, as if i were a small child discovering a snail for the first time....
oh how i love our garden and how i love Springtime!
this week has been a snowy one... it has been wonderful to have snow and for it to last long enough to play with. ...after 3 days with the girls at home, this photo shows our route to school on thursday.
i also wanted to share this audio slideshow 'snowed in' compiled by the bbc... it's sweet to watch... and it starts in 'Myrtle Road'... oh how i would love to live there!

last night it started...
this morning it is about 8 to 10 inches deep and still falling...
wonderful snow!
the cats love it ... the girls made a snowman at 6.30 am... it is now covered and no part of the scarf and hat they dressed it with shows.
school is cancelled.. husbands train not running... it is only me that can go to work... up the garden path to my studio but i must find my wellies first!
it's frosty here today and i have just taken a walk around my garden.
i noticed that this ivy plant has turned the most beautiful colour... it took my breath away.
still protected yet gently unfolding.
i noticed this delicate little insect floating on top of the water in my flower vase.
sad that this little creature had died yet such an opportunity to observe natures intricate details.
