i started this blog as a way to explore and learn more about photography and for a place to post some of the images that i take. i tend to go through phases of not using the camera at all, then days of taking lots of shots. i rarely travel far so most of my photos are taken around my locality and particularly my back garden.
i take photos for me, for my enjoyment and my personal creative expression. last Christmas i had a few of my best images printed up to add to my textile stall at at a local craft fair. they were received well and i often toy with the idea of printing off some more.
i take photos very spontaneously, quickly and instinctively, often without too much thinking. my knowledge is limited and my dream is to one day enroll on a photography course so as to learn more. i still feel very much a beginner, so am delighted when others like my photos.
i have had two images included on two really cool sites recently which is such a thrill!
also amelia included my 'yarn therapy' image on her inspirational 101 bird tales blog. ~ you must check out her site if you have not already visited and linger a while as she has put together some great free inspirational resources and her posts always enrich and question and are real food for thought.
a few of my images may also fleetingly be appearing on tv next week. but i think it could be a case of blink and you miss it!
last year my good blog friend caireen asked if she could use a few images from my flickr site and blog for a project she was working on. she needed to create a pin board background as set dressing for a tv set using marine and nature inspired images. the images were for a pin board in a beach hut i think but as most of the action on the series looks like it will take place underwater in a submarine i feel we will be very lucky if we catch a blurred glimpse, but my fingers will be crossed. it was fun though and my images were combined with caireens and some of Diana's. the series which starts on tuesday is called The Deep. check out the preview of it on caireen's blog.
now you know what i shall be doing on tuesday evening!
Edit to add ~ caireeen tells me that the images are in frames on the wall in one of the scientists houses .
also the drama is on BBC 1 , 9pm Tuesday and stars Goran Visnjic, Minnie Driver and James Nesbitt.
