clematis blooms...
mallow leaves...
magic the cat...
it is the first day of may today... the sky is blue and the sun is playing hide and seek behind the clouds... i am at home today... a day to myself... catching up with washing and baking...i was up early to cleanse my skin in the early morning may dew hoping to retain some youthfulness, if not in complexion in spirit!
it is the cats first birthday today too ... this is a picture of magic our 'woody allen' cat... he is very sweet but a little neurotic... he is unsuccessful at catching things apart from worms. he is a dear though. his brother paws is the prowler but not so bright, sadly he is a little more successful at catching things... i am going to have to give him a collar with a large bell...
this weekend in the uk is a bank holiday and we are hoping to find some may celebrations... i love may traditions and wish schools here would reintroduce them... when i was younger we danced round the maypole...crowned the may queen.. and made flower garlands...
do you celebrate may day?... if so i would love to know how.
wishing you a happy may day!

Magical photographs too....happy May Day Ginny. Hope you find some celebrations. It's pouring with rain down here, though I think sun is headed our way, fingers crossed!
Love and hugs,

Yes, we have May Day here in Norway, though it is more the Labor Day, not so much the celebrations of spring as it is in England. Be we are enjoying the long weekend very much! Today we bought three Japanese maple trees and will plant them tomorrow--can't wait. Spring has sprung here at last! Happy Days to you & your, Ginny :o) ((HUGS))

Happy May Day Ginny! This holiday is not celebrated here in Canada, which I think is a pity.
I do love clematis flowers ~ they are always so delicate and in such gorgeous colours.

I danced round the maypole every year without fail at school. As far as I remember it was all very nerve-wracking not to be the one who messed up the ribbons! I remember my best friend being crowned May Queen, she was very pretty. I wasn't ever bequeathed the title! x

Magic is a beautiful cat. Have you noticed that his eye looks heart shaped in the photo? x

You have some beautiful photos. Is that clematis attached to a wall or something? I was thinking of using it on a trellis. And what is mallow? I've never heard of that. Thanks for your sweet words on my blog. Visit again!

Oh for a cat that only catches worms. Our two ended up being so successful on an almost daily basis that I had a month of barely going downstairs in the house during the day before I realised that I was becoming completely neurotic. Now the catflap is open one way...and they have to prove they are without company before they enter the house again. They seem perfectly happy with this and I have commissioned a little cat house with a catflap in it so that they have somewhere to shelter if I have popped out when they want to come back in again. Arg...I feel guilty about these arrangements...but preservation of mental health meant it was necessary. And how I adore them now that they can't bring their gifts unexpectedly scurrying beneath my feet! x
