i have written about my creative space recently but i really am so grateful to have it after years of working from the kitchen table and having to clear up before each meal (or not, as often was the case... you know, just pushing it all up one end to find a little space for our plates)
i really am using it more than ever at the moment even though it is very cold in here as we only have minimal heating. most people would probably not find it cold but as a wrote back at the flour loft some time ago , i do suffer from cold feet. So today i am also grateful for thermal socks!
the love cushion is a sample for a valentine workshop which i am running next year and the dove wreath was a sample for a wreath making working shop which alice and i ran on saturday which was great fun.
we had a full class of 12 ladies on saturday who all created a fabric wreath to take home with them. we supplied a good variety of fabrics and some basic templates to start their ideas off but encouraged them to spend time thinking about their design and to make something individual to them. they created some amazing work and some photos from the day will be added to the workshops gallery page on the alice and ginny website very soon.
today i am also thankful that the sun is shining and even more excitingly that Paws is now allowed outside. his leg has pretty much all healed so he is off out and being a proper cat again.
I also am grateful for all the friends and support and lovely comments that i receive here at sweetmyrtle. as a thank you i am going to do another giveaway... this one is exciting for me as it is a huge project that i have been working on with my pal alice... yes... it is our new craft book 'Home Sweet Sewn ' which is officially launched next week.
so in my next post i will tell you a little about the book and the giveaway... so please do pop back.
wishing you all the loveliest of tuesdays...ginny x
p.s. for more creative spaces please visit kootoyoo.
Sounds like a wonderful workshop, love the buttons on the wreath. I am still at the stage where I am working off of the kitchen table, I dream of my own space one day, but for now it works. How exciting for the giveaway!

A lovely inspiring post Ginny. I have just had to clear my crafty space up the kitchen table so it can now be used as the homework table! The wreath is gorgeous and I like the fact that you encouraged people to put some of their individuality into the design. How nice that Paws can venture outside again.x

So many things I want to comment on, Ginny! Firstly, I didn't know the Flour Loft was YOU! I remember commenting there when I first started my blog. And, the wreath...it is lovely! And, I love, love, love your creative space. And, and, and...I cannot wait to see your giveaway! Now..later today, while Lulu is napping, I think I will go back and visit your Flour Loft. And, (((Paws))) so glad he's back to himself! Have a great one, Ginny!!!

I dream of a creative space like that though I can sympathise with cold feet - mine feel like they are permanently frozen at the moment, along with my hands and nose too. Much to my husbands dislike as I use him to warm them up!
Have a lovely evening,
take care,
Nina xxx

I do love your wreath (tho of course minus buttons for me!) - I am a bit slow with my gratitude postings, but been thinking about things to be grateful for, aside from my normal moaning about things!

I love your inspiration board and especially the little Love pillow! Even though I have to make do with the dining room table, I think I will have to try and find room for a little inspiration board of my own. The little doves on the wreath are so cute too!

ah, yes. creative space. you have compiled a great list here, ginny. i'm definitely follow your link about cold feet, because i to have that problem i was starting to think i have circulation issues and was going to go to a doctor perhaps. it's only a recent thing -- the last year or two. they actually hurt when they get this way.
anyway, i'm so inspired by your inspiration board. some days i wish i had an entire wall like that. but i think that's what my other blogs {especially jorjah-b and shhhh serve as until i can get a little studio.}
that little wreathe is just precious. seems like you have such fun things always going on creatively. that is awesome! a true artist never stops creating.
well, lastly i want to say, i too am grateful for my blogging friends and the comments they leave. like your on my last post. i'm glad you did not see my post as me fishing for compliments, but rather me seeking for genuine advice on how to handle days like that. and your advice was taken very much to heart, especially since you seem like a very graceful and very gracious person. thanks for always giving me great feedback. i can tell you are reading and genuinely interested.
have a great day, g.

Your creative space and creations are sooo lovely, Ginny! Having a space, a real carved out, functional and happy space to work in makes such a difference to the flow of creativity. Having once had a teeny tiny corner to work in too it is now luxury to have a room of my own to work in and never take it for granted either--what a blessing! LOVE your dove wreath...so delightful for the season. Happy Days, my friend :o) ((HUGS))

I love the practical pin board. One day I may get around to doing something similar? It's a great idea. I am so glad that Paws is able to play being a proper cat again, being allowed outside. Good luck with all the projects you have on the go, and of course good luck with your new publication too. x

Hello Ginny
I like your creative area, my room is still being worked on. I can't wait to have it all done to that I may be creative again.
I too have cold feet! My grandmother used to knit little bed socks which were more like a little slipper with a rose on. Very sweet and did the trick!
Your latest book is wonderful, I love the photos and the projects! Will be featured in one of my posts soon.
Take care
Isabelle x
