picking a word to focus on for 2011 is a great idea, though i find it so very hard to narrow down as there are so many powerful words that help us in so many different ways. after writing a long, and i mean long list of inspirational words i finally chose one that encompasses how i would like to move forward in my life.
EMBRACE
i want to fully embrace life and all her possibilities, engage fully, be present, live, love, play, experiment and enjoy. this word feels so right and has so much intention in it that i hope it will keep me on track this year and help me see outside of myself and live well for myself and others around me.
after being happy to finally decide on a word another popped into my head.
DISCOVER
this is how i am at the moment. looking into books, reading blogs, inspirational stories, trying to understand myself and my purpose and how i can be and how i would like to move forward in all aspects of my life but particularly spiritually and creatively...
so i am doing e - courses, have planned to take a few day workshops to learn new techniques and to revisit old ones and i am excited.
so here's to 2011 for embracing and discovering!

my choosing a word for 2011 is part of my journeying with Louise Gale and her BIG DREAMS SMALL WONDERS e - course
Have you chosen any words for 2011? if so please share in the comments and we can all inspire each other x
Hello Ginny! You have inspired me to pick a word for 2011 and put it up on my blog so that I can be reminded daily! My word for 2011 is NURTURE. The word nurture means to nourish, feed, educate, train, grow, develop and cultivate. I like your chosen words too, especially discover. I love discovering new things! x

Hi Ginny
I love both your words - so powerful and inspiring. I truly hope your next 12 months is full of "carpe diem" and discovery :-)
As for me, I have 3 words and they really spring from our adoption process we're going through. Our next 12 months are very much uncharted territory for us. As such I've found myself drawn again and again to 3 words which have inspired people for thousands of years: faith, hope, love. They encompass all that I want to live my life in the coming year.
I look forward to hearing about your discoveries and new adventures!

My word this year is "nurture". Nurture life, nurture creativity, nurture relationships. Its funny how one word can really speak to you. I have been chatting to friends to think about a word and its been fascinating to hear what "speaks" to them.
Have a great year

Hi Ginny,
I think that my word for 2011 should be serenity. As a worrier, it is difficult for me to achieve serene moments in my day, but I'm working on it.

The words you have shared are very powerful Ginny, I enjoyed this thoughtful post very much. I think it is very inspiring to choose and focus in on specific words throughout a year. Last year our family saying was 'be here now' be in this moment... I think it is time to think of a new word for this new year, thank you for the inspiration xo
